How do I go about renting a storage unit? What do I need to bring with me?

The first thing to do is to give us a call (248.625.6161) after we have determined what size unit you need, and that it is available, we will set up an appointment over the phone to meet at the facility. You will need to bring your driver’s license and cash, check, or major credit card to cover the first month’s rent (due at the time the lease is signed), plus a $40 (refundable) security deposit. You will see the unit, sign the lease, pay the first month’s rent and security deposit, purchase a lock if necessary, and receive a code to enter the gate. At this point, you will place your lock on the unit, and your ready to go!

How do I know if a unit in the size that I need will be available?

The best thing to do is call us, we can always tell you what we currently have in stock, and we will always give you an honest answer if you ask us what we predict our future availability will be.

Can I "reserve" a unit?

No. Units are rented on a "first come, first serve" basis, and we cannot hold units for prospective tenants. If you absolutely have to have a unit and are not sure if it will be available when you are ready to move in, the best thing to do is to come in and rent it. This is the only sure fire way to guarantee availability.

When can I get access to my storage unit?

Our normal gate access hours are 6AM - 10PM, everyday all year. Special access privileges may be granted solely at our discretion. In other words, if you can prove to us that you need special access, it may be granted. Please feel free to call us and ask us about this feature.

How do you determine pricing and availability for your outside storage?

The first thing to do is to call us. When you tell us what it is that you are storing, we can tell you if we have room for it or not, and if so, how much it will cost. Pricing is determined by the size of the unit to be stored, and the current demand for outside storage.

Who is responsible if something happens to my property while it is in storage, do you offer any kind of insurance policy?

Holly Greens Storage is NOT responsible for tenant’s stored property, inside or outside. However, we do offer stored property insurance to protect your property against damage or theft. Call us to ask us about the details of the insurance policy.
